Ep 05: Matikka

Wollongong, Budget 30-50,000, DIY

“To keep our guest list manageable, Dean and I discussed whether we could see this person in our life in 10 years, if we do, they’re coming, if we didn’t then they were out.”

Matikka married her husband Dean in Wollongong in November 2023. She spent a lot of time thoroughly researching each of her vendors and planning the day, which definitely paid off with her stunning day.

Matikka planned a boudoir photo shoot for her husband as a gift the morning of the wedding, and remembers his reaction to seeing the photos as one of the highlights of the day. They did a private first look and vows, and this time away from a big crowd was very special and allowed them to show emotion.

Matikka recommends that anybody planning on having a photographer or videographer has a pre-wedding shoot to practice in front of the camera and make sure that they are comfortable. She thinks that these sessions she had were key to their effortless photos.
