Ep 07: Shani
Launceston, no budget, DIY, rustic style
“We had a 3:30 ceremony start time, it allowed people to check into an Air BNB, to relax and be able to get ready before the ceremony and to not feel rushed”
Shani married her husband, Tate, in November 2023 at a family friends property. Having it here allowed them to incorporate a lot of family elements into the day. They used a combination of local Tasmanian vendors as well as favourite Victorian vendors (where they used to live) for their wedding, as a way of tying in their old and new lifestyle.
Shani and Tate opted to do a lot of DIY for their wedding to save money, including making a lot of the lawn games and the signage. Their day was a big focus on relaxing with friends while listening to music and sitting by an outdoor fire. This is why they decided to have a no kids wedding, to allow the parents who were invited to enjoy themselves without having to worry.
Shani and Tate made a last minute decision to hire a videographer for the day and they have no regrets, they believe that this is one of the parts of their day that was made extra special and get to continuously live out these moments.
